Beginning last night, 1500 pairs of the new Nike Mag shoes were auctioned off on Ebay with the auctions benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research. To aid in the promotion of the shoes, Nike created a video ad featuring Kevin Durant, Bill Hader of Saturday Night Live, and Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future.
The piece is genius and as the first pair of shoes sold for $37,500. 150 pairs will be auctioned off a day for 10 straight days. If this pace were to keep up, the foundation would raise approximately $56 million.
